Make sure you’re ready for spring with one of these hair trends that are popping up and giving us all hair envy!
If good hair speaks louder than words, what do you want your hair to be saying?
As much as we all love pictures and their perfection, out here in real life we are doing our best to hustle our way to the top if our industries and look the part in the process. I know that most of you don’t have time to figure out what to do with your hair which is why you go to someone who specializes in it!
It’s difficult figuring out how to fit in everything we need to do to climb up the ladder and stay on top of trends in the process. I have compiled this list of the Spring Hair Trends of 2019.
Use this guide to eliminate your Plain Jane fears and soar to the top with these fashion forward looks!
1. Curtain Bangs
I couldn’t start this list with anything other than the oh SO popular curtain bangs! I am not kidding when I say almost all of my clients are asking me about them and the best part is you can incorporate them into almost any hair length and pull them off.
Make sure you keep in mind before asking your stylist, that you are ready for daily styling! These beauties are rarely a product of the wash and wear hair that we are used to seeing on trend reports.
If you re in the San Francisco area, book an appointment for a consultation to see if curtain bangs are right for you!
2. Pixelated / Stenciled Hair Color
I have been seeing this type of hair art in competition hair for a very long time but it is starting to cross over into real life. Depending on which industry you are working in this may not be the look for you but don’t rule it out either.
In this picture you are seeing a soft blending of super bright colors on a platinum white base. With this trend you could see anything from squares and circles to Mario painted on the side of someones head.

If a pop of something fun is something you are interested in to show off your creative self on your days off because you can’t at work… talk to your stylist. There are ways girlfriend!
Keep in mind the more detailed and time it takes to achieve these looks the higher the ticket price. This kind of work takes serious training and skill!
I don’t know if I will be doing this on my hair BUT I AM HERE FOR IT!
3. Assymetrical and Accessorized Hair
I am putting two categories together in this picture because I think nothing is screaming more 2019 Spring Hair Trends than this. From the blush cotton knit top to the dimensional blonde hair pushed behind her ear, to the oversized hair clip!
I am obsessed with both looks if I am being honest but let me explain each a little more…
Assymetrical Long hair:
You will be seeing this hair trend in many different forms.
For a soft and sleek look with less volume like the previous picture you would need to physically tuck or pin the hair as she does.
For a more edgy rocker vibe you would tossel the hair more and give it additional texture with products like dry shampoo or a salt spray and use your hands throughout the day to make it bigger and move it to one side or back and forth. My ABSOLUTE favorite product for a combo of these two is the AG Hair Dry Lift.
Accessorized Hair:
As I mentioned the first picture in this category is an example of a softer sleeker assymetrical look utilizing hair accessories to achieve it.
Hair accessories are so much fun and can be added to the hair in many ways. They can be a statement piece though and I hear from a lot of people that they feel like they look awkward or like they aren’t putting them in right.
I recommend purchasing a few different accessories of varying weight and trying them out in multiple ways. I promise you will find a combo that fits you and your style and over time you will get more creative and have a whole new category of accessories to add to your wardrobe!
4. Dimensional Blonde Hair Color
Blondes are shifting back to something we haven’t been seeing very much of since balayage really took over our hair styles…Classic highlights with low lights.
If you are one of my clients or have been reading my posts for a while you know I am obsessed with blonde hair!
I love everything from platinum to ombre to balayage to….the classic highlight lowlight. Trust me when I say, I am not faithful to only blondes in these categories of hair services.
I think dark brown/black hair is GORGEOUS with caramel or lighter brown dimension and, keeping it real here, it is the exact same process just different tones.
The word here is dimension…When you see the different tones mixing through your hair it warms my heart and I am so thankful it is coming back!
A common way I am seeing a lot of women loving moving back over to this color is by only highlighting the first inch or two right around their hairline so it gives them that high dimension look without the intense line of demarkation later. You can use your favorite balayage technique beyond that section to give the hair way more blonde at the front but still a melted highlight look toward the back.
This looks like a cross between a balayage and a classic highlight. and can inch you back to a bright dimensional blonde!
5. Curly Bangs!
Of course, I saved the best for last!
My absolute favorite trend that so so many of my curly girls are running in for is the heavy curly bangs. I have them. I love them. I love every single one of my ladies that are rocking them!
Curly bangs were SO taboo about a decade ago that even I had this long standing joke with my friends about them. I was always odd man out though because I was always feeling a slight tug toward wanting them but I was SO nervous.
Curly hair takes SO long to grow out I thought the idea of going for it was crazy…. until one day I took the leap and my life was forever changed!
I am not kidding and may not ever grow them out!
Wow!
Ok you guys, thank you so much for reading.
